February Special Price on These of $100.00 It all starts with a Flat Sheet of Metal and Hammer if your creating any kind of panel with a decent crown. You need a Beater Bag, a Hammer, and a Sheet of metal to begin Shaping. A Hammer is used to start Stretching the Flat Sheet of material over a Beater Bag. You want to Stretch the metal or"Rough Out" your panel by hand before you start in your Planishing Hammer or English Wheel. This is Done Rapidly by Delivering "Hits" from your Hand Hammer. The Heads on the Hammers have different Shapes, some are round and some look like a "Wedge". The round ones are for Stretching, and the Wedges are for Tuck Shrinking (*see our Tucking Tool in Our E-Bay Store). 1) HP Hand Held Billet Aluminum Hammer Machined from 2 1/4" 6061 and 1 1/8" 6061 3) Round Heads with a Low, Medium and a High Crown Machined from UHMW 1) Wedge Head Machined from UHMW * All Hammer Heads are Now Black and have a .998 Shank so they pop right in. I've made similar Hammers in the Past but these are in my opinion the Best yet. This Billet Handle feels better than a straight Shank, Knurled, or Wood handle like I've made in the Past. The Handle has a large radius on the grip that enables you to choke up on the Handle without it slipping. The Handle extends 12 Inches from the Head. The HH001 Hammer Head is 6 Inches long, it features 3 Flathead Screws for securing the Hammer Shaping Heads and the Handle. The Handle has two diameters turned on the end that is inserted, one is , .875(1.25 long) and the large diameter you see in the pictures is 1.100 The overall Length Inserted is 1.625!
