Enerpac Air Hydraulic Booster / Intensifier B - 1618 Enerpac Hydro-Pneumatic Booster/ Intensifier Includes FZ-1610 and FZ-1619 adapters, Oil Reservoir and Hydraulic Oil. A booster economically and conveniently intensifies shop air into high pressure oil for the operation of hydraulic cylinders and components. It's primary components are the air piston and hydraulic plunger. When air pressure is exerted against the air piston, a force is submitted to the oil chamber. The the plunger acts on the confined oil to develop high pressure. The pressure intensification is determined by the ratio of the air piston to that of the hydraulic plunger. Thus, if a booster has a 16:1 ratio, 100 PSI air will develop a hydraulic pressure of 1600 PSI. This hydraulic pressure output, when multiplied by the effective area of the cylinder will give its actual holding force in pounds.
