SCRIBE REFERENCE LINES FOR METAL WORKING LAYOUT WITH .001" ACCURACY Scribe-Rite is a light-weight, easy-to-use, precision machined aluminum layout tool that requires no special skills to operate. It has been hardened through a special process to insure its long life and provide it with anti-abrasion characteristics to preserve its accuracy. Scribe-Rite utilizes a removable, optical centering-gage that provides .001" accuracy. It is a plastic, optical column that has been ground and polished to provide 6 power magnification without distortion or parallax. The centering gage is designed to collect and concentrate room light on the surface to be viewed, so that no accessory light is required. Crosshairs in the viewer provide precise location of any reference point, such as the scale on a steel rule. The scribing edge of the tool is aligned with the vertical crosshair in the centering-gage.
