This is a combination of a precision thermocouple meter (Omega Engineering model 450 AKT) with a high-temperature thermocouple (Omega Engineer model XCIB-K-4-4-10) This system was purchased as an NIST-traceable reference thermocouple for use in calibrating a thermocouple to control a heat treating furnace. However, the project was cancelled and this system has not been used since the July 2006 calibration. The thermocouple is a high-temperature model, 10 feet long and rated to 980C continuous. The system is calibrated at 6 points: 100, 200, 400, 600, 800, and 950 C. The result is a system rated at an accuracy of 0.55 degree C, plus or minus one degree C since the meter reads to a precision of 1 degree C. The original system (including parts and calibration) cost $660. (We do not proofread any ads submitted by members) |
