Tridonic - Atco powerPAK is the new low loss, thermally protected gearbox for high pressure sodium and metal halide lamps. Inside PowerPAK has all the advantages of the digital developments from Tridonic -Atco: Pulse control for fast starting and restarting, automatic digital cut-out and very low noise operation even at high ambient temperatures. However on the outside, a revolutionary design means that it can be installed without the use of tools and allows for very simple flexible installation even in the smallest of installation holes. Benefits such as long cable lengths and operation of the lamps fully in accordance with specifications are ideal particular for shops. The key to the “Long distance†OM PAK is the pulse ignitor from TridonicAtco which actively regulates the ignition voltage within a narrow bandwidth – ± 0.2 kV with reference to the nominal value. The extremely stable ignition voltage curve ensures optimum reliability even for applications with long cable lengths – 20 m is possible for any lamp wattage. The properties are particular beneficial in shop design as the unit can be easily located in suspended ceilings. By separating the luminaire and the ballasts it is possible to optimise weight distribution, for example if downlights are concentrated in the centre of the room and to ensure the heat is more evenly distributed in the suspended ceiling. In addition, the noise level is lower with pulse ignitors than with superimposed-pulse ignitors. For users, the new OM PAK “Long distance†supply unit means added functionality in a perfectly matched system. Three versions are available for 35 W, 70 W and 150 W so all indoor applications involving high-pressure discharge lamps, such as shop lighting, are well covered.
