Second Wind uses ultraviolet germicidal light and a patented photo-catalytic process to disinfect mold, bacteria, infectious disease, and decrease odors in the air handler. The UV-Clean Breeze mounts directly in the air handler, with its plenum rated remote lamp cord and easy mount lamp bracket. The lamp comes shielded with a factory sealed water resistant electrical lamp connection. Lamp replacement is easy with a quick disconnect lamp cord. Lamp operation is monitored by an air handler sight glass which is included. Second Wind Air Purifiers use ultraviolet germicidal light and photo-catalytic oxidation to remove mold, bacteria, viruses, odors and off gases in your home. Second Wind units produce the perfect wavelength of light (254 nm) to disinfect air borne micro-organisms. Ultraviolet light has been used since the 1930’s in many applications: water treatment, hospitals, laboratories, aquariums, meat packing plants, etc. to control air borne micro-organisms. Second Wind units use a process called photo-catalytic oxidation to remove odors and off-gases. When the high intensity ultraviolet light shines on a specific catalyst a reaction takes place producing what are called hydroxyl radicals.
