V20 Brazed Router Bits Position1 We apply the latest technology to the development of vacuum brazed router bits. This technology provides the most aggressive honing of edges while allowing the bits to maintain their shapes throughout the lifetime. They work nicely on both marble and granite materials, while last longer on marble material. Their prices are much lower than metal-bond counterparts. Features of this bit include: * 30 grit diamond ideal for honing * Highly efficient, 3 - 5 times faster than metal bond bits * Lasts much longer than position 1 since it does not need to do as much work * Works ideal on both marble and granite * NSK bearing made in Japan included In the past diamond products came 3 ways - metal bonded, resin bonded or electroplated. Of these the fastest was always electroplated since they have 100% diamond exposure. The problem with the electroplated is that it is adhered with pure nichol and an electrical charge - virtually "painted" on to the product using electricity. Since nichol is a low grade metal you can only use very small piece of diamond, or they will fall off of the tool. if you use any other metal besides nichol the melting point is too high and will damage the diamonds up to the point of turning them back to carbon (remember that the diamond used on these products is synthetic diamond, not natural diamond). Recently it was discovered that inside a vacuum the melting point of metal is lowered. This allows makers to braze diamonds to tooling in a vacuum producing faster cutting, longer lasting prioducts. The math works like this: Brazed products will cut 3-5 times faster than metal bonded products, at a comparable price and comparable life of the tool. These save time which makes you more money.
