Western Electric 176A Cable Test Set The 176A ("SICK PIC") Test Set permits prerehabilitation testing of unfilled, aircore PIC cable selections with capacitance of 0.083 uF/mile. The Test Set will test 22 thruogh 26-guage cable selections between 50 and 2500 feet long and 19-guage sections 100 to 2500 feet long. The Test Set measures the amount of water that has penetrated a section of cable and thus helps to determine the corrective actio needed. Features of the 176A design include: Direct meter reading of percentage of water in cable sections - no computing or special tables required. Built-in calibration and self-check circuit. Automatic battery testing during calibration. Automatic out-of-range warning during testing. Completely self-contained unit, including test leads.
