The very popular, useful and versatile 4016 CMOS is a low dissipation CMOS IC that acts as four excellent logically-controlled electronic switches, bi-directional (bilateral), for both analog and digital signal switching. Practically endless digital and analog applications involving signal and data multiplexing and selection, including ADC and DAC applications, and for the digital control of frequency, impedance, phase and analog amplifier gain. "Bilateral" means that you can use the 4016 to switch analog signals and digital signals in either direction. I use these standard ICs by the ton, but I purchased so many that I am selling some now.
