Positioning lines are available in 1/4" diameter, 7 x 19, galvanized (7,000 lb. test) or stainless steel (6,100 lb. test) wire rope. A locking snaphook is permanently attached at each end. An available nylon covering extends cable life and protects against abrasion, dirt, grit, and moisture. Coated diameter is 5/16". The selection of your lanyard is as important as the proper selection of your body belt or full-body harness. Lanyards should be kept as short as possible to reduce the possibility of serious injury. OSHA mandates that free fall distances not exceed 6'. Gemtor recommends that an energy absorber be part of a fall arrest system whenever possible, in order to ensure that forces incurred during a fall are less than the OSHA limit of 1,800 lbs. Care should be taken to prevent abrasions or cuts. Ropes with larger diameters have greater abrasion resistance. Specify length when ordering.
