Fantech has stood as the industry standard in american made ventilation fans for the high-end user who demands more than a clunky, noisy squirrel cage fan or the so-called inline fans which offer nothing more than a 4-blade fan in a cheap sheet metal housing. This fan is a GREAT alternative to the Elicent 6" #150B fan. Unlike Elicent, Fantech does 3rd Party researched CFM ratings. This specific model FX 6XL was rated at 392 CFM, whereas the Elicent #150B's in-factory CFM rating was stated as 300 CFM. Thats nearly 60% STRONGER than the Elicent model. This specific fan is the Fantech FX 6XL inline fan. It can be used in a wide variety of applications ranging from Home Improvment, Dryer ventilation, manufacturing enviroments, The home workshop and even in ciggarette smoker's living enviroments to help keep smoke and other nausious fumes from gathering. Additionally this fan can be used with almost all 120v speed controlling devices. This fan already runs very quiet due to its balanced disk, sound-deadening housing and centrifical motor. However many users have found that the combination of insulated ducting and a 375 CFM Carbon Filter can make the fan virtually silent during operation.
