This means that they must be round or spherical within .0001". 302 Stainless Steel balls are used extensively in steel ball bearing applications that require hardness, excellent corrosion resistance and toughness. 302 Stainless Steel is also used for corrosion-resistant ball and check valves. 302 is magnetic, unless annealed.
